Each player is assigned a login created by a teacher, parent, youth leader or other game administrator. This allows a player to save the game to play again at a later time. The introduction plays once for each player. After this, each time a player returns to the game, they resume from the Courtyard. As a player completes a task, the student report will check off their accomplishment. The teacher, parent, or youth leader can go to the console and see a student’s game progress at any time. Please note that a player is free to explore the Four Realms and can accumulate skills in numerous patterns. While entry to a skill that builds on another will be closed until the more basic skill is earned, the player has a lot of freedom. Each player will progress through the Peace Navigator Skills at their own pace in the order they choose. They can also go back to any completed task at any time they choose to review or play it again. This feature can be very useful if there has been a significant time lapse since the game was last played.
We foresee multiple educational uses for the Peace Navigator game:
- Reinforces the instructor-led peace education that is currently offered by Peace Learning Center.
- Teachers can integrate peace and character education into their classroom in numerous ways.
- School counselors and administrators can support the game as a school wide anti-bullying initiative.
- Home schools, Religious Education programs, youth groups and school boards all search for engaging conflict resolution training that works…
And that’s where Peace Navigator comes in; a fun and engaging conflict resolution adventure, spreading peace education ideologies and cooperative problem-solving skills throughout today’s youth.
